Moving into Apt. D4

Apt D4 Records

Updated: Apr 2, 2020

Growing up in the heart of NYC. I wasn't really savy to everything that was happening around me. Understandably sheltered, I grew up realizing that respect for my parents and household came first followed by hard work. It wasn't always easy. My family and I went through some tough times but we made it through to the different places we are now.

We lived on the 4th floor of an apartment building in Jamaica Queens. The apartment number is actually D2. The "D4" comes from the 4 daughters that I have as in "4 Daughters".

I starting thinking recently about what type of musical memories I would leave behind for them. I've made so many records over the years. The ones that probably sounded the best were the ones from my early years with my former partner Brian Tappert (Traxsource / Jazz-n-Groove) Brian Tappert and Marc Pomeroy have undoubtedly gone on to change the face of house music while maintaining such humble postures. I'm blessed to still have these dudes in my life.

With opportunities to connect with a few local artists. One of them being my oldest daughter Kailé Grant . I knew that the timing was more than just a coincidence to begin this new business side of my music journey.

With a few releases of my own in the works and a trustworthy team of talented peeps reviewing some new talent. 2018 promises to be a great new year as we celebrate the launch of Apt D4 Records.

Cheers to the rest of the Florida DJ's , Producers, Artist's, A&R, and more that continue to put our Sunshine State on the map.

HOUSE MUSIC IS OUR MUSIC!
